Business Overview

Chinalco Yunnan Copper Resources Ltd (“CYU” or “Company”) is a resource exploration and development company with project interests in the Mount Isa region of north Queensland.

The Board of CYU continues to focus on transforming the Company into a substantial mid-tier mining group, with a primary focus on acquiring and developing near-term copper production activities (both locally and overseas), with a focus on the significant copper opportunities in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa.

CYU has offices in Brisbane and Mount Isa. The Company is listed on the ASX under the symbol “CYU”.

A summary of CYU’s current project interests is as follows:

1. Australia - Mount Isa

CYU has several tenure holdings in the highly prospective Mount Isa Inlier region of north-western Queensland. This is a known region of significant copper and related mineralization with a long history of mining.

CYU’s prospect interests in this region comprise the following:

(a)    Mary Kathleen/Mt Frosty JV – Mary Kathleen/Mt Frosty JV with Goldsearch Ltd (EPM 14019 and 14022 – CYU 100% and Goldsearch 1.75% NSR, EPM 14467 – 51% owned by CYU and the balance 49% owned by Xstrata Mt Isa Mines); and

(b)    Cloncurry North – 90% owned CYU tenure (EPM 12205), with the balance 10% having been earned by YEX.

A feature of the Mary Kathleen JV is the establishment of a 27.7Mt copper-gold inferred resource at the Elaine Project.

2. Project Acquisitions

CYU also has a stated corporate objective to acquire an interest (or interests) in resource projects that are either in production or at least at the feasibility study stage. Internal CYU review and discussion about such opportunities continues.
